I never approved of or wanted this added to Chrome. One of the worst as in useless pieces of software that I have ever used. Not impressed.Īn Antivirus downloading and installing a useless software without informing me. This has just been installed on my computer with no prompts or notifications whatsoever. It wastes precious screen space to provide a function I neither need or want.

Therefore, it would be best to avoid them, or at least, consider very carefully if you really need that extension. Like Avast SafePrice, a product from Avast called Enhanced Protection Mode has also been indicated as rogue security software. In fact, it has been recognized that extensions, installed by security software, can actually expose users to unnecessary dangers ( HowToGeek).
Just because an extension is developed by Avast, a known antivirus company, that doesn’t mean that it’s completely.
This means that some people have had Avast SafePrice installed against their will - not something that a legitimate antivirus program should do. This is made worse by the fact that Avast SafePrice used to be installed together with the antivirus, without explicitly asking for your permission. The Avast SafePrice extension was meant to really help people find shopping deals, but functioned a lot like adware, displaying advertisements and tracking users’ activity. There are many coupon-themed unwanted extensions and applications that are best uninstalled: Grocery Coupons, Best Coupons, many others.
