This is similar but the GUI is slightly different. You can also use/install the gnome color manager from the gnome software center. As for calibration, automatic calibration (clicking on the calibration button) may not be available on certain screens (I think mostly LCD screens?). The profile will switch automatically and you should notice a change in the look immediately. Also, google your hardware and color profiles for "Ubuntu" or "Linux" to see if others have tested this out already.
